Hans Wiebenga

Hans Wiebenga (1917-2005) was a teacher from Bloemendaal who entered the House of Representatives in 1967 and in 1969 became political leader of the PSP. He was already active in the peace movement before the war, and during the early years of the PSP he was an exponent of the 'ban the bomb' generation in that party. He was replaced as party leader at the end of 1972 by the younger Bram van der Lek and then left politics. He subsequently continued to devote himself to the peace movement, including in the No Cruise Missile Committee.
